My background

I've been working as a psychologist for about fifteen years now. After completing my master's degree in Clinical Psychology, I worked in a variety of roles: as a university psychology lecturer, a mental health psychologist, a meditation teacher, and a breathwork coach.

I also completed various training programs, including (somatic) EMDR, mindfulness, parts work and breathwork. I supported people with anxiety, burnout, depression, and trauma, as well as those experiencing unexplained stagnation. I worked individually, in groups, and within various organizations.

My experience has allowed me to meet a wide variety of people, both in primary and specialized mental healthcare. What became particularly clear to me is how important it is that therapy doesn't follow a fixed pattern, but rather connects with who someone is and where they are at that moment.

For the past few years, I've been working entirely independently, primarily online, and also in collaboration with organizations. My work is rooted in the belief that every person possesses resilience and the capacity for healing.

I am affiliated with the NIP, the Dutch Institute of Psychologists.

My story

I was born in Amsterdam in 1984. Around twenty-five, I noticed I was mainly focused on getting by: studying, working, keeping up with everything. Outwardly, things seemed fine, but inside, I felt a lot of tension and uncertainty. I wasn't sure where it came from, and that marked the beginning of a long journey of self-discovery and ways to manage stress.

When I encountered insight meditation and Buddhist psychology, I began to better understand how thoughts, feelings, and patterns are interconnected. Later, I was introduced to body-oriented work. There, I learned that if you truly want to know and understand yourself, the body is essential.

These personal discoveries have shaped how I work now: attentive, holistic and tailored to what someone needs.

I live in Amsterdam with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family and friends, being outdoors in nature, and traveling. I also enjoy creative pursuits, cooking, and music. To take a break from the busy daily life and find inner peace, I practice yoga and meditation and try to go on retreats regularly.
