Therapy with Tessa
In therapy with me, it's all about you. Not about a step-by-step plan, a protocol, or some version of yourself you have to create. You're welcome as you are, with anything that's going on: stress, anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, sadness, grief, trauma, relationship or life questions, or simply the difficult feeling of being stuck and alone with your challenges.
I work closely by your side, aligned with your process. We'll make space for what's alive. Sometimes we'll explore what your mind is telling you, what your body is feeling, and what different parts of you want to express. This way we uncover your deeper feelings and needs.
For me, therapy is an open dialogue and a journey we embark on together. We explore what's going on beneath the surface, so you can reconnect with yourself and choose your own path step by step, without judgment or pressure.

An approach that goes beyond talking
My approach is experiential and body-aware. We don't just focus on what you're saying, but also on what you're feeling, how your body reacts, and what's happening inside. This brings to light what often remains hidden in ordinary conversations.
I work intuitively and use various methods, such as EMDR, parts work, and mindfulness. This combination allows us to tune in to what you need at that moment—sometimes turning inward, sometimes exploring more deeply, and sometimes slowing down.
By working this way, you gain clarity about yourself: your patterns, your emotions, your thoughts, and how they are all interconnected. From that space, you can let go of what no longer works, creating more balance and resilience. This allows you to make choices that truly suit you, rather than just what's expected of you.
Practical: what a trajectory looks like
1. Free introduction (20 minutes)
We'll start with an online introductory meeting. You can take your time to see if we click, ask questions, and experience how I work.
2. Intake interview
If you'd like to proceed, we'll schedule an intake. During this intake, we'll dive deeper into your background story and your current situation. We will explor your needs and goals, and we'll determine the starting point of our sessions together.

3. Sessions (usually 60 minutes)
Sessions usually last an hour, but can be shorter or longer if that suits you better. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly or upon request.
4. Evaluation after approximately 8 sessions
Together, we'll look at how things are going, what's changing, and whether we need to make any adjustments. This way, the therapy continues to meet your needs.

5. Duration of the therapy
The duration of the therapy differs. Some people are able to resolve their issues in a couple of sessions. And some people benefit from being supported for a longer period of time.

Therapeutic methods I work with
Body-oriented EMDR
Body-oriented EMDR combines the well-known EMDR method with a focus on what your body reveals. By using eye or body movements, you process experiences in a safe and natural way. We look at how your body reacts to memories, stress, or triggers in the present moment. This helps reduce tension and create a sense of peace and space.
Mindfulness - Compassion
Mindfulness helps you become aware of what you're thinking, feeling, and experiencing physically, without having to react immediately. Compassion adds kindness, especially in difficult moments. You learn to look at yourself with more gentleness, creating space for clarity, peace, and resilience.
Parts Work
Parts Work is based on the idea that we all have different "parts" within us: sides that want to protect, want to achieve, are afraid, or simply seek peace. Instead of suppressing these parts, we explore what they're trying to tell you. By understanding them and acknowledging the underlying needs, you create more harmony within yourself and less inner tension.
